(NewsMax) Chris Lu, a one-time high-ranking official under former President Barack Obama, says White House adviser Kellyanne Conway broke the law when she promoted President Donald Trump’s daughter’s clothing line while making a television appearance.

He made his claims in a Twitter post. Lu, a former deputy secretary of labor, specifically cites a passage in the Standards of Ethical Conduct for Employees of the Executive Branch, which reads: “Any employee shall not use his public office for his own private gain, for the endorsement of any product, service or enterprise, or for the private gain of friends, relatives…”
His tweet also tagged Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, chairman of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee. Lu’s comments come after Conway appeared on “Fox & Friends” on Thursday, The Hill reports.
